Hospital settings can be really unnerving for the patients who visit them. A good portion of the population lives with hypochondria, a sort of health phobia, and clinical environments may exacerbate these fears tenfold. We put our trust in the medical professionals who serve to take care of the general population, and it is in that trust that many patients find peace with the uncomfortable environment they’re in.
Even if you don’t have a phobia of clinical environments, you still rely on the trust you put in your provider to get you through an appointment or emergency medical event. As patients, we assume our providers take all steps necessary to ensure our safety. But what happens when a medical provider couldn’t care less about our well-being?
The MRI technician featured in the story below unprofessionally decided to take a bike ride while one of his patients was in the MRI machine. The patient even reached out to another medical professional in the vicinity and explained she didn’t know which button to press. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the first instance of medical malpractice at the hands of the technician. Scroll below to read about their behavioral patterns.
